Granville Island is a small peninsula which is connected to downtown
Vancouver by the Granville Street Bridge. The area has always been
associated with industry and since World War II with ship building. During the
1970s the area was developed from an industrial area into a combined
industrial, commercial and entertainment area.
One of the more popular attractions on Granville Island is the Granville Island
Water Park. In this park you can expect to find a large variety of slide which
range in size from small to giant, a water play area, movable water cannons
and many other attractions.
The Water Park is open from May to September each year and there is
lifeguard supervision all day everyday. All in all this is a great place to bring
the children for a fun day out.
