The first recorded climb of Mount Seymour took place in 1908 by the British
Columbia Mountaineering Club. Today Mount Seymour is most famous for its
quality snow conditions combined with gentle slopes which are ideal for
beginners of both skiing and snowboarding.
Mount Seymour is situated just 20 minutes from Vancouver. The park is ideal
for snowboarders as over 60% of the people on the mountain are on
snowboards. There is a good range of slopes with the vast majority being for
the novice or intermediate. If you need a rest from your skis or your board
there are other snow based activates on the mountain there is a Snow Tube
Park and a Toboggan area.
For novice or beginner skiers and snowboards there are plenty of lessons
available which will give you an ideal introduction to the sport.
If you are on the mountain and feel you need to rest yourself there are two
restaurants, the Rock Chute and the Seymour Café. Both snowboard and ski
rentals and the gear needed are available for rent.
