Stanley Park

Stanley Park is a haven for wildlife and fauna. The park is spread out over 1000 acres and is situated in close proximity to Vancouver.

The history of Stanley Park began in 1886 when Vancouver's City Council zoned the area for recreational purposes. The park was officially opened in 1888 and since then visitor numbers have grown to an estimated annual number of visitors in excess of 8 million people. In fact Stanley Park is the 3rd largest park in North America.

Part of the draw to Stanley Park is the amount and quality of attractions that are available to visitors. It is possible for you to ride a horse drawn carriage and even visit a farmyard and miniature railway which is aimed towards children. For the more mature person who might appreciate more tranquil activities the Rose Garden, Perennial Beds and Rhododendron Garden may be more appealing.

While visiting the park it would be easy to forget your stomach, but when you do get hungry there are plenty of options. The Sequoia Grill, Fish House Restaurant, Prospect Point Café and Stanley Park Pavilion are all there to server your hunger.
