The Greater Vancouver Zoo is situated in Aldergrove and just 5 minutes from
the Trans Highway at Exit 73. The Zoo is spread out over 120 acres with the
general idea that the area is split into different areas with animals native to
that particular area on show in that area.
There is a vast array of animal on display in the zoo and too many to mention
here. All in all there are around 900 different species on display. All the
favourites are present and if you are looking for elephants, lions, tigers,
giraffes or bears you will not be disappointed.
Among the attractions at the Zoo are The Safari Express Miniature Train,
Wilds Safari Bus, Lion & Tiger Feeding and Quadra-Cycle Rental. In the
example of the Safari Express, you will be taken on a 15 minute bus tour that
will allow you to see bears, wolves, elk and bison roam free.
The Zoo is open during Summer Season from April 1st to September 30th and
during the Winter Season from October 1st to March 31st. Admission ranges
from $13 for an adult to $10 for a child aged between 3 and 15 years old. A
value family ticket is available from $40. All in all this is a great place for some
quality family fun.
